New Map and Brochures of Shu Swamp Preserve
Posted 28 Feb 2009 by w.simonds
A handsome new trail map of Shu Swamp Preserve, created by Molly Eckelberry, has been posted in the parking lot of this sanctuary on Frost Mill Road. Please stop by and enjoy it. Carol Johnston has also designed brochures describing the Blue and Red Trails of the preserve, which will soon be made available to visitors.

The mission of the Sanctuary, as written in the by laws, is "to preserve or to aid in the preservation of all types of wild nature, including natural areas, flora and fauna, and biotic communities; to establish nature reserves to be used for scientific, educational, and aesthetic purposes; to promote education in the fields of nature preservation and conservation."
To understand better how the nearly 275 acres of Sanctuary properties are used, please click on the individual properties in the "Preserves" section at the left.
The North Shore Wildlife Sanctuary, Inc. is a non-profit corporation organized under the laws of the State of New York on January 7, 1963. It was granted tax-exempt status by the Internal Revenue Service on June 27, 1963.
