This preserve is a prime example of open meadow; a habitat that is vanishing all too quickly. Purpletop and Little Bluesterm grasses
are dotted with a fine stand of New York Aster as well as Common Milkweed, Red Clover and Pokeberry. Swallows, hawks and butterflies
make use of the open space and the Bluebirds that nest here find it a necessity. In addition, the dogwood trees that edge the meadow
provide a welcome food supply for migratory and wintering birds. 7.5 acres open meadow behind the Cherrywood neighborhood. Not open
to the public.
